Image as Garment: A Study of Copenhagen Fashion Week SS23

This research driven project explores the visual language of Copenhagen Fashion Week S/S 2023 through an image study and analog printmaking process. I selected and cropped runway images to highlight key design motifs, silhouettes, and emerging trends, framing each as a fragment of a larger narrative. These curated visuals were then transformed into 3-color Risograph prints, a meticulous, layered printing process where each color was printed in a separate pass. By using Risograph printing, a slow, manual technique, to recreate fleeting digital moments, the project calls into question the dissonance between the care and craft behind textile and clothing design and the speed at which the industry produces and consumes imagery. The result is both a visual archive and a meditation on labor, temporality, and the materiality of fashion images all culminated in a hand bound book.
